【CCIC Traceability Case】THAI FRAGRANCE RICE

发布时间:2017-03-09

THE CASE

In March 2016, 450 tons fragrant rice from Thailand, previously verified and assessed via the CCIC full-chain traceability process, arrived at the Shenzhen Port. Upon recognition of the CCIC inspection report via the CCIC Traceability System, the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (CIQ) completed customs clearance within 8 hours. The swiftness with which goods were cleared at the border was highly appreciated by the client.

SOLUTIONS

Traceability was put into practice following the principle of “1+4 global traceability admission and release”. This method involves 1 traceability platform for imported commodity and 4 traceability key-features, including: overseas pre-shipment inspection, faster clearance at the destination port, intelligent supply chain tracing, and information sharing between multiple parties.

1. Overseas pre-shipment inspection: CCIC Thailand carried out: authenticity verification, assessment of the Chinese label, on-site inspection, quality control, supervision of the application of the traceability anti-counterfeiting tags and loading supervision. Afterwards, the following documents were issued by CCIC: certification of origin, testing report and inspection report. Relevant data on product supervision and logistics were also integrated into the system.

2. Faster clearance at destination port: CCIC uploaded into the Traceability platform information including: product origin, product specifications, quality certifications, CCIC inspection results and logistics data. At the Chinese destination port, the Inspection and Quarantine bureau (CIQ) examined the CCIC inspection report, verified the traceability anti-counterfeiting labels, implemented full document control, and as a result faster customs clearance was achieved.

3. Intelligent supply chain tracing: CCIC Traceability adopts an advanced anti-counterfeiting technology associated with a unique traceability code system that can not be duplicated or tampered, this method is particularly convenient for supervision authorities, business operators, and customers in order to trace back traded goods and obtain real-time product information.

4. Shared information by multiple parties: When the information is uploaded onto the traceability platform, and the goods enter the market, importers and customers have immediate access to the CCIC global commodity traceability platform simply by scanning the anti-counterfeiting code (QR Code) with a mobile phone, a tablet or other proper IT devices, and verify the product authenticity within 3 seconds.

OUTCOMES & BENEFITS

1. At destination port, the China Inspection and Quarantine bureau (CIQ) verifies the consistency of goods information, the CCIC inspection documents and carries out goods examination and release in a much faster way if compared to the time usually requested for normal customs clearance.

2. To discern the genuine product from the false one, any consumer can quickly obtain information such as: place of origin, brand, specifications and quality, by simply scanning the traceability anti-counterfeiting code on the packaging.
